Pragovka for Art, z. s.

Felix a spol. supports Pragovka for Art, z.s., financially. We like the idea of cultural and social cultivation in the Vysočany area, through which the group is helping reintegrate a neglected district into city life.

The main activity of the Pragovka for Art, z. s. association consists of ensuring a high-quality and meaningful year-round cycle of events in the Pragovka Gallery and The White Room. Through live educational events, the association contributes to the continuous development of cultural life in Prague 9, which otherwise doesn’t offer many opportunities for cultural experiences.

An essential component of this development is the support of the artistic community based at the gallery (50 ateliers, about 70 artists), overall advancement of contemporary, particularly visual, art, and bolstering the coming generation of artists. In short, the group meaningfully contributes to the development and presentation of art in Prague 9. In a location which lacks cultural activities, the association is one of the few accessible cultural service providers, one that makes art present even on the periphery, which in turn contributes to the cultivation of the area. It facilitates continued growth through the implementation of the creative incubator (which allows for the making and presentation of new projects, mostly by early- and mid-career artists) and creative laboratories (which provide freedom and mobility, especially in terms of work with local communities) etc.
